To celebrate Carers Week, the SPACE Group are running an extra special session today, in partnership with the Parent Champions and Yoga for All Manchester, with the support of Manchester’s SEND Local Offer.
There will be a free yoga session in the first hour, 11am-12pm. (UPDATE: This activity is now fully booked.)
This will be followed by other fun activities, a yummy lunch, gifts, and more!
We also have facilities for children to have fun in a safe environment while you have brew and a cake, although you do need to be responsible for your own child.
About the SPACE Group
The SPACE (Supporting Parents And Carers Endeavour) Group aims to offer a unique support group for parents/carers of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) – a group with a difference.
They run support group sessions at St George’s Community Centre, fortnightly on Fridays at 11am-1pm.
They also have a private Facebook group, which you can request to join by answering the membership questions on the group’s page.
SPACE Group would like to thank Manchester City Council for making this event possible.
About Carers Week
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face, and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
It is celebrated on 6-12 June this year and the theme is “Make Caring Visible, Valued and Supported.”
