Co-production Week 2026

Co-production Week (running between 29 June to 3 July in 2026) is an annual celebration to recognise the benefits of co-production in shaping better, more inclusive services. In the words of NHS England, “the week will highlight the power of Co-production to design and develop better ways of doing things in Health and Social Care.”

Co-production is about service providers and citizens working together to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users. By working in equal partnership, we – together – can build systems and provisions that truly reflect and serve people’s needs and aspirations.

Co-production Week 2026

This year’s theme is Care Equity – exploring what it means to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, identity or circumstances, has equal access to high-quality services.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and NHS England have organised a number of webinars exploring how co-production can drive fairer, more equitable care. Co-production in Manchester

Here in Manchester, we have a SEND Co-production Charter, which sets out how all the local partners will make better decisions for brighter futures for our children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).

It says that we will:

– Trust each other
– Support each other to understand the approach
– Embed co-production in all areas of work
– Work in the Our Manchester way
– Work in equal partnership from the start, valuing everyone
– Be transparent, accountable and honest
– Focus on strengths
– Welcome and care

Every year, during Co-production Week, we encourage local partners to reflect on what co-production means for them and how working with the Parent Carer Forum and with the wider parent/carer community has benefited their services.
