This decision hasn’t be made lightly; however, with a consistent number of sessions having no attendees over the past couple of months, buzz Manchester Health and Wellbeing Service (our meeting hosts) thought it made sense to postpone the meetups until there is demand for the service again.
If you feel that you and/or other dads that you know would benefit from the sessions running again, please let us know by either contacting us or emailing Ben Talbot from buzz (Ben.Talbot@gmmh.nhs.uk).
We, together with buzz Manchester Health and Wellbeing Service, are hosting fortnightly support groups for fathers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in Manchester.
The group will be a safe space for dads to share experiences, build relationships and seek support from other men who will often share your experiences.
The group will take place fortnightly on Tuesdays and Fridays.
These are going to be informal sessions. You can switch your audio and/or video on/off at any point, as needed, and there is no expectation to share your story unless you’re comfortable doing so.
If you would like to know more information or you would like to come along, please contact: Ben.Talbot@gmmh.nhs.uk

We would like to thank:
- Ben Talbot from buzz Manchester – for organising and hosting the sessions
- Duncan Stuart, a fellow SEND parent-carer – for co-designing the group sessions and the flyer
Back in 2020, Manchester City Council held a focus group among parents and carers as part of the Start Well programme. This is one of the outcomes of that meeting and we are exploring ways to support fathers of children and young people with SEND.
