SUMMARY:Trial of "Operation Ouch" Accessibility Features at the Science and Industry Museum
DESCRIPTION:×This event has been cancelled. \nWe will let you know if there are future opportunities to get involved with improving accessibility at the Science and Industry Museum. The Science and Industry Museum would like to invite families who have sight loss or visual impairments to try their new audio description trail and test out some tactile resources for their “Operation Ouch: Brains\, Bogies and You” interactive exhibition! \nThe museum has been working with families from Henshaws and some fantastic young people from Manchester Youth Zone to create an Audio Description trail for their Operation Ouch exhibition. By joining this exclusive event\, you can try and provide feedback on these new accessibility features before they are introduced to the public. \nEligibility:\n\nChildren age 5 – 11 years who have sight loss or visual impairments\nWillingness to trial some activities and approaches (including SIM’s child-led audio description)\n\nBenefits:\n\nFree exclusive entry to the Operation Ouch exhibition (exclusive from 2:30 to 3:30 but you are welcome to stay for as long as you want)\nSiblings welcome to join together with the visually impaired child and parents\nCake\, brew and chat with the SIM team after the trial session\n\nImportant Notes:\n\nThis is only a trial session for SIM to receive feedback from families. The exact nature of the accessibility offer will be developed in response to the trials.\nYou’re responsible for your own children’s safety throughout the session.\nUpon booking\, we will send you contact info of the Science and Industry Museum (SIM) representative in charge of this event.
