Support for SEND Families

Back in the summer of last year, Manchester City Council held a co-production event with SEND parents and carers to gather our ideas about activities for the summer holidays. This resulted in a wide range of fantastic summer offerings made available across the city to SEND families in Manchester.

Now, the local authority would like to speak to us again about what extra support SEND families would find useful this winter.

We’d like to look at what support families might need….thinking along the lines of perhaps a winter sensory pack…and or other ideas…..Be great to collaborate like we did in the summer, kick around some ideas and co-produce something which will be of great value to families.

The session will be attended by members of the MPCF team, Manchester Parent Champions, and fellow parents & carers of children & young people with SEND.

Manchester Parent Carer Forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children who work with Manchester Local Authorities, Education Settings, Health Providers and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and young people (0-25 years), as well as their families, in Manchester.

We have a steering group of parent and carer volunteers who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents and carers in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them.
