The Manchester SEND, Early Development Inclusion Team (SEDIT) is a city-wide educational service for families with a child (aged between birth and five years) who has a Special Educational Need and/or Disability (SEND) and meet the following criteria:

– Has a disability/condition that is impacting on their development?.
– Cognition and learning development have a significant delay.
– Is not attending an early year’s setting/school.

The team offers practical help and ideas alongside planned small step play activities to encourage new skills and help children to reach their full potential.

The team also offers an outreach service for settings, working with practitioners from Early Years settings throughout Manchester, offering advice and support in their work with children who have been identified as having an additional need relating to SEND. They also provide a training offer to settings and services within Manchester to support the inclusion of children who have SEND and their families.

The SEDIT team was previously called Rodney House Outreach Service for the Early Years before moving back to the city council, resulting in the renaming of the service.
