SUMMARY:Change Programme Engagement Event
DESCRIPTION:As we’ve shared previously\, Manchester has been chosen by the Department for Education to lead the North West Change Programme Partnership. We want Manchester parents\, carers and families to be fully involved in this work. Your ideas and feedback are at the heart of it. \nYou are warmly invited to an event on Tuesday\, 17 September\, at The Friends Meeting House (6 Mount Street\, Manchester M2 5NS). Doors will open from 9:45 and the event proper will start at 10:15am. Lunch will be served a 12:30. \nIt’s a great chance to hear about the Change Programme and share your views\, as well as finding out more about the SEND offer in Manchester for children and young people. As well as workshops\, there will be a range of information stalls\, including parent carer groups\, young carers\, Family Hubs\, and Child Friendly City/ Children’s Rights. \nIf you’re interested in having more say on SEND matters in Manchester\, this is the place to meet parents and carers who are helping shape services in the city. You’ll learn more about the Improvement Plan\, the Change Programme Partnership\, what this means for Manchester and how parents\, carers\, children and young people are being involved.\nEarly Years Sure Start and Family Hubs \nFind out about our offer for families and children 0-25 years.Have your say and find out about how to become a parent/carer champion or volunteer. \nWould you be interested in delivering parent-led groups for parents and children in your local children’s centre or Family Hub?\nMainstream Support in Schools \nFind out how mainstream schools are being supported to be more inclusive and what projects and programmes are available to them to improve their practice.\nPreparing for Adulthood – Care\, Health and Supported Internships \nThis workshop will look at everything involved in making a good transition to adulthood. The workshop will be led by staff from Manchester’s Preparing for Adulthood team\, health\, education and supported internships.\n\nSet B (11:50am-12:30pm)\n\nAbout Me – For Practitioners / Parent Ambassadors \nThe About Me is like a person-centred profile but it covers Education\, Health and Care.
