DESCRIPTION:This event is one of a series of free events for parents/carers and practitioners as part of the North West Change Programme Partnership (CPP). \nIt’s a chance to: \n\nGet an update on the Change Programme Partnership\nLearn the impact of the feedback from last September’s event\nGive your views on SEND matters\, including inclusive mainstream provision\nFind out about SEND support in the city\n\nYou are welcome to arrive at any time and to leave early if needed. It’s one of the ways in which MCC supports schools in developing a more inclusive environment for children and young people\, with the help of parents and carers. The programme was designed with input from parents\, carers\, young people\, neurodivergent adults\, education professionals\, and healthcare professionals. \nManchester Working Together Network \nThis is a great opportunity to hear from and about various local SEND organisations and parent-led support groups that can benefit your family.\nM-Thrive \nIn this workshop you’ll find out about all the support available for mental wellbeing for children and young people\, in Manchester. \nOrdinarily Available Provision \nThis workshop will look at the support available to help schools with inclusion\, including the Ordinarily Available Provision toolkit\, outreach from specialist schools and services\, Emotional Barriers to School Attendance toolkit\, Transition resources and technology support for pupils\, such as the AV1 robot. \nSpeech and Language Therapy and Early Years \nIn this workshop\, you’ll find out about the range of support in Early Years\, including speech and language therapy.\nSEND Information\, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) \nIn this workshop you can find out about the advice and support which the SENDIASS service is able to offer to parents/professionals. \nSHOC Project \nWe know the transition from Primary to Secondary School is a challenging for many of our SEND young people because that’s what they tell us. We want your views about ways to address this\, and what actions we can take\, to support a smoother transition and a successful secondary education. \nWhat’s Important to Families \nIn this session\, we will explore the different aspects of life that are important to families of deaf\, disabled and neurodivergent children and young people.\n\nInfo Stalls:\n\nAbout Me\nThe ‘About Me’ document is a way to share more information about yourself\, to someone you are meeting for the first time.\n\nYou can send it to them before an appointment\, an activity or moving to a new setting. It is great for job applications too. They get to know you before they meet you.\n\nYou can let a doctor\, a dentist\, a tutor\, a coach or an employer know how you like to:\n\ncommunicate\nbe supported\nbe kept safe and well\n\nAnd\n\nWhat your strengths are. What you are amazing at!\nWhat you like and are passionate about\nWhat your future plans are – What and where you want to be\n\n\nSupported Internships \nSupported internships are the best route into employment for young people aged 16-24 with an Education\, Health and Care plan.\n\nThey are a partnership between employers\, colleges\, supported employment providers and Manchester City Council. They allow a young person to learn skills in real work environments with the support of tutors and job coaches.\n\n\nAlongside their time at the employer\, young people complete a personalised study programme which includes the chance to study for relevant qualifications. \nWherever possible\, they support the young person to move into paid employment at the end of the programme. \n\n\n\n\n.fusion-button.button-2 {border-radius:2px;}Book Now\n
