SUMMARY:SCP Communication Workshop for Parents/Carers
DESCRIPTION:The information will be delivered through a PowerPoint presentation\, in addition to some small group work which will provide opportunities for discussing examples. \nWe do encourage you to ask questions as these sessions are to enable you to gain knowledge about available support and resources. \nThis session will include: \n\nWe will consider language and communication strategies.\nUnderstanding what behaviour your child/ young person may be communicating\nHow to promote language and communication development\nSignposting to useful sources of help and resources\n\nBiscuits\, tea and coffee will be provided. However\, lunch isn’t provided so please make sure to bring your own food for the lunch break. \nIf you need an interpreter to access the session\, please email mft.scppostdiagnosticworkshops@nhs.net with at least a week’s notice before the session. DESCRIPTION:The SEND Local Offer Drop-ins are a great way for parents & carers of children or young people with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) to find relevant information and support. Friendly and informal\, please feel free to share your stories and ask questions. \nThis month’s session will be held in Central Manchester\, at Moss Side Millenium Powerhouse in Moss Side. \nThe drop-ins are usually attended by the following organisations\, subject to their availability: \n\n\nManchester Parent Carer Forum\nWe’ll be on hand to listen to your stories and questions. We will try to help and signpost you to the relevant services and organisations who may be able to give you expert advice and support.\n\nLocal Offer Engagement Team\nManchester City Council’s Local Offer team organises and hosts these drop-ins.
