SUMMARY:Understanding and Working with the Education System: Post-Diagnostic Workshop (PRIMARY)
DESCRIPTION:This session is aimed at parents/carers of children and young people in PRIMARY School. \nIt will be delivered by a One Education Educational Psychologist in conjunction with SENDIASS and Manchester Parent Carer Forum. \nThis session will include: \n\nWhat are Special Educational Needs (SEN) and how can they be met in school?\nWhat are schools and Further Education settings required to provide?\nHow can you ensure your child’s needs are being met?\nWhat is available in Manchester to children and families?\nWho can provide advice and support?\n\nThere will be opportunities for questions and discussion. \n \nBiscuits\, tea and coffee will be provided. However\, lunch isn’t provided so please make sure to bring your own food for the lunch break. \nIf you need an interpreter to access the session\, please email mft.scppostdiagnosticworkshops@nhs.net with at least a week’s notice before the session. SUMMARY:Review of Speech and Language Services (Online)
DESCRIPTION:Manchester NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) is reviewing the Children’s Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) service. The aim of the review is to see how we can get the best out of the service to meet the needs of children\, young people and their families. \nWe are open to suggestions on how things can work better\, as well as comments on what is working well at the moment. We want to learn from parents and carers about how best to support you to access the service and make sure it works for those who are using it. \nWe really appreciate and value the input from parents and carers who have used or are currently using this service so we hope to meet as many of you as possible on this day. \nThis meeting will be held online\, via Zoom.
