Tell Us How You Like to Play

Manchester City Council and some local partners are looking to develop an inclusive community play area in Wythenshawe Park.

To be able to do this, they would like to hear from parents/carers of children/young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) to get an understanding of how they can make the park more accessible to children with SEND.

Please join us and We Love MCR Charity at this informal virtual meeting and tell us about your experience of parks and play areas.

  • What sort of things do you look and plan for when visiting one?
  • What features would provide the best experience for your family’s visit?
  • What are potential barriers to your family being able to access a park/ play area?
  • Have you visited a park before that you would consider as a great model of inclusivity/accessibility in an outdoor space?

Manchester Parent Carer Forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children who work with Manchester Local Authorities, Education Settings, Health Providers and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and young people (0-25 years), as well as their families, in Manchester.

We have a steering group of parent and carer volunteers who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents and carers in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them.
