Following the launch of Manchester’s Inclusion Strategy in November, Jane Johnson (lead for Manchester City Council’s Promoting Inclusion & Preventing Exclusion Strategy) would like to invite parents and carers to a follow up event in January.
Jane is keen to continue to work closely with parents, particularly given the feedback from parents whose children are facing exclusion, and specifically, that they would like help, advice or support from other parents. She’d like to invite us to a session to gather ideas about how forum members and organisations/groups might like to be involved, and any ideas you may have.
What: Inclusion Strategy Follow Up Event with Parents
When: Monday, 20 January 2020, 10:30am-2pm
Where: Whitworth Art Gallery
Other Details: Lunch and Transport will be provided.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you’re interested in joining us on the day, including whether you have dietary requirements and/or if you need a taxi booking.
More Information about the Strategy:
Manchester’s Children and Young People’s Plan – Our Manchester, Our Children 2016 – 2020 – translates the Our Manchester priorities into a vision that is focused on ‘building a safe, happy, healthy and successful future for children and young people.
Manchester’s new Promoting Inclusion & Preventing Exclusion Strategy has been developed to help the Local Authority, early years’ settings, schools, Post 16 providers and other services work in a more coherent way to support young people to attend well , make good progress, and reduce the risk of any form of exclusion.
The strategy provides an outline of approaches, interventions and services, to ensure the needs of all young people are understood and addressed in order to support good attendance, progress, achievement and prevent exclusion wherever possible.
