Back in October 2019, a group of parents and carers got together to form an EHCP moderation panel that looks at the quality of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in Manchester. We received training from Manchester City Council and have since met a couple of times to review a few EHC Plans.
This parent panel moderation is a key activity in improving the overall quality of plans, with the judgements being shared with the EHCP Team manager and the SEND Board.
We are currently looking to expanding the panel and would like to invite parents and carers of children/ young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in Manchester to join us.
Members of this parent panel will receive EHCP training and will be offered transport support and food/refreshments during moderation sessions.
Thank you for your interest in joining the EHCP moderation panel.
As we only have a limited number of places for this panel and we’ve already received more expressions of interest than there are available places, any new signups will be added to a waiting list that we will contact should new places become available in the future.
Thank you, everyone, for your dedication in making things better for Manchester families of children and young people with SEND!
