This session is aimed at parents/carers of PRIMARY school-aged children.
The information will be delivered through a PowerPoint presentation, in addition to some small group work which will provide opportunities for discussing examples.
We do encourage you to ask questions as these sessions are to enable you to gain knowledge about available support and resources.
This session will include:
- Considering what Autism means to your child and family.
- We will consider What is Autism, considering strengths and positives whilst also considering myths and viewing the world through an Autism lens.
- Signposting to available services to promote well-being.
Biscuits, tea and coffee will be provided. However, lunch isn’t covered so please make sure to bring your own food for the lunch break.
The group will be held at the Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse: 140 Raby St, Moss Side, Manchester M14 4SL

As a post-diagnostic workshop, this session is offered to parents and carers of children or young people who have received a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).
This can be from any of the three Social Communication Pathway (SCP) teams – South Manchester (Carol Kendrick Centre), Central Manchester (The Powerhouse/ Winnicott Centre), and North Manchester (The Powerhouse/The Bridge).
