Gathering to Observe Geraldine Hills’ Funeral

It is with great regret to say that we have recently lost Geraldine Hills MBE, founder of the Manchester Parent Champions and long-time advocate for parent-carers of children with SEND in Manchester.

We are hosting an informal gathering for parents, carers and other supporters to observe Geraldine Hills’ funeral (via livestream) and to celebrate her life.

The funeral livestream will start at 11am but we will open at 10:30am for refreshments. We will also have a light lunch around 12 noon with an opportunity to chat with other parents and carers, and to write a letter to Geraldine’s family about your good memories of her.

Manchester Parent Carer Forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children who work with Manchester Local Authorities, Education Settings, Health Providers and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and young people (0-25 years), as well as their families, in Manchester.

We have a steering group of parent and carer volunteers who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents and carers in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them.
