We will be co-presenting, together with the SEND Local Offer team, Manchester Parent Champions and SPACE Group, at this LIVE WELL Live webinar organised by Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership.

Our presentation will be about how Manchester City Council has worked with parents and carers to transform our city’s SEND Short Breaks offer. With much of the offer now parent-led, we have been able to reach a significantly higher number of families at a significantly reduced cost.

There will also be other speakers who will talk about The Hamlet Wigan CIC, Greater Manchester’s Neurodiversity in Education project, and Pioneer House’s Strawberry Fox Cafe.

Join us for this upcoming webinar to explore the impact of co-produced and person-centred community interventions in creating SEND-inclusive learning environments and neighbourhoods for children and young people. We’ll discuss how projects across GM are devolving power to children, parents and carers to influence decision-making, and how collaboration between schools, families, and community organisations are being strengthened to provide more effective wrap-around support. By working together, listening and empowering children and young people, these approaches are improving support for SEND children, their families, and carers, while also helping to reduce school exclusions and waiting times for healthcare-focused SEND services.
