Manchester City Council is keen to meet with parents and carers to discuss the impact that some proposed changes to the delivery of home adaptations may have on families.
Currently, the Disabled Facilities Grant is awarded by the national government to the city council, and this is then claimed by individual citizens needing major home adaptations by applying to the council’s Strategic Housing Investment Team. They may send an occupational therapist or trained assessor to visit you at home and discuss what adaptations would be appropriate for you.
They are looking to change the delivery of these adaptation grants and are conducting an Equality Impact Assessment before implementing the changes.
If you wish to get involved with this discussion, please click the button below to register and we will send you the MS Teams meeting link in advance of the session.
