Join us on Monday, 27 November 2023, for a coffee morning at Martenscroft Nursery and Sure Start Centre in Hulme.

It’s an opportunity to meet and chat fellow parents & carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in a relaxed and friendly setting.

We are pleased to announce that the Focused Support Team from Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) and Managed Clinical Services (Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital) will be joining us on this day to speak with parents and carers about some resources for the hospital to support children with learning disabilities and autism.

Learning Disability and Autism Specialist Nurse Advisors, Elena and Naomi, would like to hear our feedback about some resources (including including a patient experience booklet and a pain tool) that they are working on and what parents/carers would like to be included in these.

* The Focused Support Team supports delivery of high quality care to children and young people with learning disability, autism and mental health needs within RMCH’s and MCS’ inpatient and outpatient departments. They provide guidance, teaching and specialist knowledge to patients, carers and staff in conjunction with promoting the needs and rights of children and young people with mental health illness, learning disability and/or autism.

You will also learn about the work that we do at Manchester Parent Carer Forum, find out about information & events relevant to families, and talk to us about opportunities to get involved.
