Salford City Council is hosting a webinar for parents and carers 5-6pm on the 27th of March. The session will include the opportunity to work with HMRC and other internships near and in Manchester.

Join us this National Supported Internships Day to learn more about supported internships in Salford and how they can help young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) take their first steps into employment.

This free online information session is aimed at parents and carers of young people with learning disabilities or autism. It will cover:

  • What supported internships are and how they work
  • The support young people will receive during the internship
  • How to apply for the 2025 intake
  • Other employment opportunities and support available for people with SEN in Salford

Manchester Parent Carer Forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children who work with Manchester Local Authorities, Education Settings, Health Providers and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and young people (0-25 years), as well as their families, in Manchester.

We have a steering group of parent and carer volunteers who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents and carers in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them.
