Following last year’s approval of the new Social Communication Pathway (SCP) for Manchester, we have been working with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to run a parent/carer session where you will be able to ask questions you may have about this new assessment pathway.
We invite you to join us on 18 March 2021, 10-11am, for a chat with Jo Bromley, who is the Service Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Carol Kendrick Centre (South Manchester CAMHS).
Here is some information that we can share with you about the SCP:
Sometimes, the team may feel that another service is better placed to meet a child’s needs. For example, it may be that a child seems to have Developmental Language Disorder and need to be seen by the community speech and language team first. The SCP will always let families know what is going to happen to their referral.
We will ensure that any children or young people waiting for assessment by central or north CAMHS will be transferred to the new SCP in their area and will be seen in order of the date their referral was received.
It will be helpful if you can send your question(s) to us by 9am on Wednesday, 17th March so we can send them to CAMHS in advance of the session.
