SPACE (Supporting Parents And Carers Endeavour) Group aims to offer a unique support group for parents/carers of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) – a group with a difference.
This week, we will be visited by an educational psychologist from One Education, who will speak about the work that they do and how they can support the education process for children with SEND.
Of course, there will be the usual opportunity to meet fellow parents & carers in a relaxed, friendly setting.
As this is the last session before we go on break for the summer, we are holding a one-off extended session up to 1:30pm this day. The next session will be in September, after the children return to school. Feel free to come along, 11am-1:30pm, at St George’s Community Centre.
Please message the SPACE Team to confirm. 👍 (We are trying to manage numbers to minimise Covid risk.)
There will be food and refreshments for everyone.
We also have facilities for children to have fun in a safe environment while you have brew and a cake, although you do need to be responsible for your own child.
Covid Safety Measures
- We have a big space reserved at St George’s for the event. However, we have decided to put lower capacity in order to minimise risk.
- We will open windows to improve air circulation, where possible.
- Hand sanitisers and hand washing facilities will be available throughout the day.
- Please reconsider attending if you are not feeling well or have shown signs of illness close to the day.In this scenario, we’d also request that you cancel your booking in order to open space for other families in the waiting list.
In line with Covid guidance, we may ask attendees who are showing symptoms to leave. Please visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-covid-19/events-and-attractions for more information.
