Manchester City Council is developing an action plan to double the number of interns and they want to hear from parents/carers about what we think should be in the plan.

Please join us for this short initial session to discuss the contents of the action plan and how parents/carers can be involved in this piece of work moving forward.

Please note that this is an online event – the MS Teams meeting link will be sent to you via email after booking.

What are Supported Internships?

Supported internships are study programmes for young people, aged 16 to 24, who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and want to move into employment, but need some extra support. They provide work experience for young people with disabilities so they can gain skills and develop in confidence. In brief, supported internships give young people an opportunity to take their first steps into the world of employment, build skills in the workplace, gain qualifications, and use these to potentially get a paid job.

Please visit the Supported Internships page on the SEND Local Offer website for more information.
