Manchester City Council is keen to meet with parents and carers to discuss and co-produce a new pilot being developed with the aim to improve preparation for adulthood outcomes for young people aged 19+ with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We recognise that too many young people leaving specialist college provision, and their families, do not know what their next steps are. We are starting to think about how we can improve this experience for young people by developing a strong “Good Week” Offer.
A Good Week Offer can combine different elements of an education, health and social care service or provision. The primary aim is to be ‘person-centered’ and to think about all aspects of a young person’s life – what activities they enjoy, who they like to spend time with, and what they will do each week that will help them to thrive as an adult.
What to Expect:
- Josie Clough (Preparation for Adulthood Project Manager) and Tom Markham (Post-16 SEND Commissioning Lead) will deliver a presentation about the Good Week Pilot Project.
- We will then have an interactive discussion about what a “Good Week Plan” can look like.
- Lunch will be served at the end of the session. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking.
