Some of you may know that a new building is being developed to house some Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) teams and MPCF together in one building – and we need a name for it!
We were originally going to call it the Greater Manchester Autism Hub but we want your suggestions for a new name to call it.
We are going to be based at the right wing of City View House in Ardwick and the centre will house the forum together with the Manchester’s CAMHS teams for Learning Disability and Autism (LDA), the Social Communication Pathway, the Specialist Community Service & Learning Disability and Autism (SCS-LDA) team, and the Intensive Support Team (IST), as well as MFT’s Needs-led Offer. The centre will also be used as a hub for GM Autism, which will oversee training and some strategic developments across Greater Manchester.
Can you help us with suggestions for this essential GM and Manchester centre for autism and learning disability support?
For reference, current Manchester CAMHS buildings are called:
- The Bridge
- The Powerhouse
- Carol Kendrick Centre (named after a paediatrician who set up mental health services for children in So Save uth Manchester)
- The Harrington Building (named after a lead psychiatrist)
As a little token of appreciation to the person who suggested the chosen name, we will invite you to a VIP tour of the building when it opens, followed by lunch together with us and some of the MFT teams in the centre.
Please answer the short form linked below to help us choose the new name for the centre. The form will close at 12 noon on Sunday, 7th of September 2025.
