EHCP Moderation – Parent Panel

On this day, parents and carers will be reviewing some (anonymised) Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure their quality and ensure that the voice of the child/ young person and their family is the “golden thread” that runs through the plans.

This parent panel moderation is a key activity in improving the overall quality of plans, with feedback being shared to the EHCP Team manager and the SEND Board as an avenue for learning on top of improving the individual plans that have been reviewed.

In this session, we will also look at some reforms being proposed by the government to improve EHC Plans.

Please check your inbox (or your spam folder if the email isn’t in your inbox) then let us know ASAP if you want to join this session, as we only have a limited number of places.

If you are not already in the panel but would like to be considered for future EHCP moderation sessions, please send us a message and we will add you to the waiting list of parents and carers that will be contacted should new places open up. To be eligible to join, you have to be a parent/carer of a child or young person with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in Manchester.

Manchester Parent Carer Forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children who work with Manchester Local Authorities, Education Settings, Health Providers and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and young people (0-25 years), as well as their families, in Manchester.

We have a steering group of parent and carer volunteers who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents and carers in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them.
