There’s a maximum of 6 players per lane. Additional non-players would be welcome to cheer players on. If your family requires more than 6 players then please make this clear in your text message.

Join us and other families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) for a FREE game of bowling at Tenpin Harpurhey!

The venue is fully accessible and we’ll have ball ramps available for those that need them.

We would like this to be a whole-family event so please feel free to bring your other children (i.e., siblings without SEND) with you.

Our team will be there to welcome you and provide assistance, if needed, but please note that you will need to be responsible for your children’s safety at all times.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the 6pm start to book in and be ready to start your game.

For those who will be at the SEND Local Offer Drop-in on Wednesday, 10th of December, we will be accepting in-person bookings there at Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre between 10am to 12pm.

What makes it SEND-Friendly?

Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) is committed to making the event as welcoming and comfortable as possible. You can expect:

  • This event is exclusive to families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) aged 0 – 25 years.
  • Peace of Mind – All MPCF staff and volunteers have lived experience of SEND so you can rest assured that there will be a level of empathy and understanding with any needs or quirks that may arise on the day. Please speak to a member of the team if you have a request to make for a better experience.
  • A Quieter Experience – We will request the bowling alley to reduce the volume of music. There will also be some ear defenders that you can borrow, if needed.

Manchester Parent Carer Forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children who work with Manchester Local Authorities, Education Settings, Health Providers and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and young people (0-25 years), as well as their families, in Manchester.

We have a steering group of parent and carer volunteers who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents and carers in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them.
