Join us and other families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) for a FREE game of bowling at Tenpin Harpurhey!

The venue is fully accessible and we’ll have ball ramps available for those that need them.

We would like this to be a whole-family event so please feel free to bring your other children (i.e., siblings without SEND) with you.

Our team will be there to welcome you and provide assistance, if needed, but please note that you will need to be responsible for your children’s safety at all times.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start to book in and be ready to start your game at 11am.

NOTE:

There’s a maximum of 6 players per lane. Additional non-players would be welcome to cheer players on.

If your family requires more than 6 players then please book an adjacent lane for this. There would need to be a responsible adult with the children at all times.

What makes it SEND-Friendly?

Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) is committed to making the event as welcoming and comfortable as possible. You can expect:

  • This event is exclusive to families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) aged 0 – 25 years.
  • Peace of Mind – All MPCF staff and volunteers have lived experience of SEND so you can rest assured that there will be a level of empathy and understanding with any needs or quirks that may arise on the day. Please speak to a member of the team if you have a request to make for a better experience.
  • A Quieter Experience – We will request the bowling alley to reduce the volume of music. There will also be some ear defenders that you can borrow, if needed.

The new Manchester SEND Local Offer logo shows a well-designed lettering of 'LOCAL' in orange colour, with the L's sandwiching the word 'OFFER'.Acknowledgements:

Much thanks to the SEND Local Offer for making this possible.

We’d also like to thank Tenpin Harpurhey for providing us with a wonderful bowling package that families can enjoy.

Looking for other SEND-friendly activities?

This family event is part of Manchester’s SEND Community Offer.

To find out more about the SEND Community Offer and stay up-to-date with everything SEND in Manchester, please subscribe to the Local Offer newsletter and/or follow us on social media.

Events that are part of the SEND Community Offer are exclusively for families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) living in the city of Manchester, i.e. those who live in an area covered by Manchester City Council.
To ensure that places for these events go to the right cohort, we are considering a system where parents/carers can either upload their proof of residence virtually or show it in person.
Please help us develop and improve this system by answering a short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/proof-of-residence
