Grab a pillow, blanket, or your favourite squishy and join us at our inclusive Halloween movie party!

We will be getting comfy with our families to watch a short Halloween-themed movie whilst we snack on yummy popcorn.

After the movie, we will have more family fun with our Halloween games and crafts. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

There will be a sensory room available for children that need a quiet space.

Important Notes:

  • You are responsible for your own children’s safety throughout the session.
  • This event is exclusively for families of deaf, disabled and neurodivergent children & young people living in the city of Manchester.
  • Siblings without SEND (Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities) are also welcome to join.

Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) is committed to making the event as welcoming and comfortable as possible. You can expect:

  • This event is exclusive to families of children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities.
  • Peace of Mind – All MPCF staff and volunteers have lived experience of SEND so you can rest assured that there will be a level of empathy and understanding with any needs, difficulties or quirks that may arise on the day. Please speak to a member of the team if you have a request to make for a better experience.
  • A Quieter Experience – We can reduce the volume and/or request for some lights to be kept on/ switched off, if needed, ensuring that your visit will not be too overwhelming.
  • Accessibility Considerations – The rooms that we will be using in the centre are accessible to wheelchair and buggy users. We can switch on subtitles for the movie if needed.
  • In Your Own Time – No need to rush and bustle. Whether you are coming late or have to leave early, it’s okay with us.

We will be showing:

  • Room on the Broom (25 minutes) – An Oscar-nominated short film, this is the story of a witch who is thankful to three animals that help her find her belongings and fight a fire-breathing dragon. In order to give them a ride on her broom, she creates a new, spacious broom to fit them all.
  • Spookley the Square Pumpkin (45 minutes) – A scarecrow and a spider trio help an odd-shaped pumpkin overcome his feelings of shame and inadequacy.

Short stay parking (maximum 4 hours) can be found at Harpurhey Shopping Centre – directly opposite Manchester Youth Zone.
