To celebrate this year’s National Playday, Manchester City Council – in partnership with Manchester Play Network – has organised the Play Day Festival, which will be held at Whitworth Park on Wednesday, 3 August, 11am to 3pm.
The event is open to children and young people of all abilities and can be accessed free of charge.
There will be face painting, arts & craft, a climbing wall, balloon modelling, junk modelling, sensory toys, rock-painting, den-building, mobile-making, magical hideaways, environmental workshops, play dough, jungle gym, sensory musical bottles, bug hunts, story telling, and much more! Magic Light Pictures’ Pip and Posy will also be making a special guest appearance. There will be DJs and entertainers all day, and food & refreshments will be provided.
There’s no need to book for this event; just turn up and enjoy! 🙂
The Play Day Festival is part of Manchester’s 2022 Our Year initiative – a celebration of Manchester’s children and young people, “with a whole-city approach to help them shape a future that’s safe, happy, healthy and successful.”
2022 Our Year is a focused year of listening to young people and bringing key partners together to create more experiences, opportunities and support to ensure children and young people are at the heart of all we do in Manchester.
2022 Our Year is a chance for everyone who shares this vision across the city – from large businesses to community groups or passionate individuals – to play their part and make a difference.
