We have just published a survey, with the aim of getting parent-carers’ views on how Education, Health, and Social Care (EHC) settings are doing in terms of meeting the needs of children and young people aged 0-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Below is a copy of the said survey, which we hope you could answer by 22 November, as we are hoping to gather as many parent-carers’ views as possible for feeding back to the relevant organisations.
If you are having problems filling up this survey on the website, you could answer it directly on SurveyMonkey using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/manchester-send-survey-autumn-2017
Thank you very much!
I am main carer and grandparent to —. We have short breaks for 12 hours per month and I use it via Time support babysitting. We have an excellent carer called Claire Guest who takes — swimming and trampolining. She is everything we could ask for in a Carer, the main thing being that I feel confident that she keeps her safe and that when they are out together they have fun and Claire helps to develop —‘s independence.
We are also fortunate in that — is allowed the Summer playscheme at Grange School. The Staff are fantastic and give the children some great experiences whilst having fun and using up all the children’s energy. It also gives us the Carers valuable time to recharge our batteries during the long summer break.
Thanks for sharing, Mary. We will share your lovely comments with Grange School and the Short Breaks team.
We will be publishing the SEND Survey covering the first half of 2019 soon and we hope you will again be able to share with us your experience of the different Education, Health and Social Care (EHC) services in Manchester during this period.
