Respite Offer from Newman Holiday Trust

You can apply NOW to send a child to our summer holiday at Stonyhurst College, Clitheroe in 2024! This year’s holiday will run from Sunday the 18th of August until Saturday the 24th of August and will be packed with fun and adventure!

The Newman Holiday Trust is an entirely voluntary organisation that organises respite holidays for children with additional needs. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supported environment and use a care ratio of one helper to one child at all times.

The holiday’s timetable will be designed to cater for the tastes of a very wide range of children with varying interests and abilities. Activities can include theme park and farm trips, swimming, sports days, bouncy castles, discos and so much more. The holidays also allow for quieter, more relaxed moments, perhaps involving sensory play, arts and crafts or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

The holiday is run by volunteers, led by two holiday organisers. Every child has their own volunteer carer, and other “spare” volunteers are around to help out. Our holiday will have two nurses to give the children whatever medication they may need, to support volunteers in providing for the children’s needs, and to make sure that we are all happy, healthy and active!
