We have been informed by Manchester City Council’s Local Offer/ Parental Engagement team about free devices for SEND families who have no access to a tablet and internet.
To be eligible for a device, you have to be:
- A Manchester resident
- Over 18 years old
- Have no access to a device (excludes smart phones)
You are then scored based on whether you meet any of the following criteria:
- a carer
- aged 65 or over
- have an underlying health condition or disability
- have a low income
How to Apply
- Please check that you meet the above criteria before sending your application.
- Complete the form below.
There is limited supply and we have been asked to send the applicants by tomorrow morning so please send us your details ASAP.
The devices come with a SIM card installed that will come pre-loaded with 24GB of data. Once that data has been used it would be down to the individual to get the SIM topped up if they wish to do so. Manchester’s Digital Inclusion team may be able to give you support/ advice when the free data has run out.
If you know anyone who is struggling using the internet or a device, please pass on this information, get them to ring the Manchester Coronavirus Helpline or email Manchester’s Digital Inclusion team so they can provide the help needed.
This programme was made possible through the council’s partnership with the #DevicesDotNow initiative.
