Neurodiversity profiling is a way of mapping children’s and young people’s differences, their strengths and their needs, across domains such as communication, energy levels, sensory experiences, etc.

Here in Manchester, the University of Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) are developing a neuroprofiling tool in order to be better able to support neurodivergent children and young people while they are in the process of a neurodiversity pathway assessment (e.g., Social Communication Pathway for autism, ADHD assessment through CAMHS). The tool has been co-produced with parents, carers, and other agencies, with the aim of helping professionals, settings and families put in place the necessary support and adjusments for a child even as they are awaiting their diagnosis.
