You are invited to join the Working Together for Change workshops, which would assist Manchester City Council in their review of Adult Day Services in Manchester.
We are looking for parents/carers who have a young person or adult with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) that has lived experience of Manchester’s Adult Day Services for SEND.
As part of the review, the local authority has commissioned Helen Sanderson Associates to run their Working Together for Change programme. It is a series of four interactive workshops, which will take place online via Zoom on the following dates – 11th, 13th, 24th May and 1st June, 10am-12:30pm.
Attendance is required for all four sessions, and participants who complete the whole programme will receive a £20 shopping voucher.
What is the Working Together for Change model?
Working Together for Change is a process that brings together a group of key people to explore and learn from real information, from the real lived experiences of people who use services. Decisions and actions resulting from the event is co-produced with people who use services and their families as well as key decision-makers.
You can find out more about how Working Together for Change works by watching this short video:

More Info About the Day Services Review
The Day Services Review is one of Manchester Local Care Organisation‘s (MLCO) flagship commissioning activities.
The review includes:
- All daytime support services for adults in Manchester who have social care support. Typically, this means provision for groups of adults, usually in a fixed setting.
- Young people moving from children to adult services
You can learn more about this review by viewing this presentation: http://manchesterparentcarerforum.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Day-services-review-citizens-presentation-no-audio-.pdf
Please note that this workshop will be about feeding into improvement of the Adult Day Services in Manchester rather than solving individual issues about the support you receive.
If you can’t attend the meeting but would still like to get involved, please send us a message and we will share your feedback at the session.
