Manchester is due to update its medical conditions policy for supporting students in schools.

Thus, Manchester City Council are looking to involve parents in reviewing their Model Policy for Supporting Pupils at School with Medical Conditions. They are specially hoping to include parents with children / young people who have significant medical needs in mainstream schools.

The policy outlines the support that pupils with medical conditions should receive at school.

At the meeting, we will look at the current model policy as well as some model templates. These have been designed so that schools can use them to help write their own policy and letters/forms.

Various stakeholders, such as the local authority’s HR team, Health colleagues and unions, have previously been involved.
