Based in Central Manchester, the Digital Independent Specialist College (DISC) will, in September 2022, be opening its doors to support young people with a flair for digital and creative technology to prepare for adulthood and employment. Over the course of one year, young people enrolled in the internship programme will develop their digital and creative work based skills, improve their confidence and core employability traits, and be supported into an apprenticeship, employment, self-employment or other positive destination in the digital economy.
DISC was formed by the team at Digital Advantage (DA), who have spent 7 years delivering work experiences to over 5000 young people ranging from 10 to 25 years of age.
The full time supported internship is open to young people aged 16 to 25 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The part-time option is open to 19-30 year olds with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). Both offerings will be based in Digital Advantage’s city centre studio.
