Let’s go for a visit to the festive lights trail at Mayfield Park! Join us for a walk around the park, taking in the beautiful scenery along the Twilight Trail.

  • A member of the MPCF team will welcome you at the entrance between 4:30 to 4:55pm.
  • Entrance timings are strict but, once inside, you can stay for as long as you like.
  • Each participant will receive a snack pack and a drink to enjoy after the trail. Note that the Twilight Trail does not allow eating outside food within the venue so you will have to keep the food until you finish the trail.

Please note that you are responsible for your own children’s safety throughout the session.

As part of the SEND Community Offer, this event is FREE to book for families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) who live in the city of Manchester.

The Twilight Trail is an enchanting, immersive light and sound show, transforming Mayfield Park into a dazzling city centre winter escape. Experience the park after dark and light up the night with us.

There will be music playing throughout, soundtracked by La Discothèque.

Please scroll down to the bottom of this page (or click this link) for a video showing the trail.

While we have booked plenty of tickets to help ensure that most attendees for this time slot (4:30pm start time) are families of children and young people with SEND, please note that this is NOT an exclusive booking for our families.

However, the park and the trail are quite accessible from our experience, so we hope that everyone enjoys the session nonetheless. 🙂

The immersive light show is designed for all ages, from families, couples, groups, and everyone in between.

It takes approximately 30 mins to walk around the light show but you are welcome to enjoy it at your own pace.

Guests are welcome to stay as long as they wish.

Unfortunately, food and drink are not permitted in the venue. We will be handing you food packs at the entrance but please keep them in your bag until after you exit the trail.
There are also bars and food vendors available at Freight Island (the venue’s partners, which is located right by the park) for a post-light show meal & drink.
We unfortunately have no say on this policy.
Unfortunately, bicycles are NOT allowed at the event.
Buggies and wheelchairs are allowed.
The Twilight Trail takes place outdoors and you may need to queue on busy days. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear for winter weather.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse inappropriately clothed patrons’ access.
We unfortunately have no say on this policy.
The ground conditions are suitable for wheelchair users. The ground is mostly flat with a slight incline on certain routes.
