We recently received great news that, because the Social Communication Pathway pilot in South Manchester has improved the experience and wait time for children and young people undergoing assessment for autism, the pathway has now been approved for a city-wide roll out.
This means that there will be one Social Communication Assessment and Intevention Team (SCAIT) in North, Central and South Manchester all working to the same protocols.
Teams across the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) are all moving forward with the plan for autism assessments and are meeting to try and agree new processes.
We will share information with you if and when we know more.
Onwards and upwards, Manchester!
The Social Communication Pathway (SCP) Team has produced a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document with some very useful information about this new diagnostic pathway in Manchester.
